Chair of Architecture and Design Scotland (A&DS), Karen Anderson, has today announced the members of the organisation’s new Design Review Panel.
Speaking earlier Ms Anderson said:
A&DS’s Design Review Programme has been refreshed in light of last year’s Governance review of the organisation. We have worked with the Scottish Government to ensure that we have the right structures in place to allow us to build on this tried and tested method of assessing the design quality of selected development proposals.
We are pleased to announce that we are appointing 28 professionals from a range of built environment backgrounds to become A&DS Design Review Panellists. These new Panellists will work with A&DS staff to assist developers, design teams and planning authorities by providing constructive, expert, advice from an external viewpoint. Our key aim in Design Review is to support and encourage good design and placemaking by identifying areas where design quality could be improved at an early stage.
