Vacancies

Buildings and places have a huge influence on the quality of our lives and our wellbeing.

We know from experience that a place is better when the people who live there work together to shape it. The Place Principle, adopted by the Scottish Government in 2019, asks agencies in a place to collaborate to create a shared vision for its future.

In 2021 we launched a new strategy. The core aim of our strategy is to create the conditions that will ensure the Place Principle becomes the ‘new normal’ when planning future investment in our public services and assets.

We work with our partners to demonstrate what a joined-up approach looks like and the benefits it brings. We use our experience and professional skills to inspire and support all those involved in creating, adapting, and sustaining Scotland’s places. Above all, Architecture & Design Scotland is about bringing people together to create better places for everyone by making the Place Principle an everyday reality.

If you join Architecture and Design Scotland, you will get to meet an extraordinary group of talented and committed people who work to ensure we fulfil our objectives. If you are inspired to help to create Scotland’s places and you have a passion to clearly communicate the benefits of this approach, we would love to hear from you.

Our values

Architecture and Design Scotland is here to help people. We can only do this by using the talent, energy and skills of our staff and our shared values.
