Hopeful Housing Futures opening event

Join us at the new A&DS:SpACE venue with the opening event by Imagine If. Space CIC to celebrate National Housing Week.

After welcoming you to this new space and you have a refreshment in hand, we will share some information about what to expect from the A&DS:SpACE exhibition programme over the next few months. You can view the headlines of the forthcoming programme here.

A short poetry performance will mark the opening of the exhibition programme and the start of the first event by Imagine If. Space CIC. Imagine If will share some hopeful insights on their planned events, workshops and interactive exhibition, explaining how it has emerged from their ongoing creative engagement practice.

After watching Imagine If's short film 'Hopeful Futures' you will be introduced to the interactive exhibition through a short ideas activity that aims to surface good ideas for homes, streets and neighbourhoods of the future.

If you would like to have a deeper dive into the practical application of design ideas and how they might happen, sign up to one of the workshops running throughout the week. We will finish the exhibition on Thursday with a panel discussion discussing 'What do good neighbours, communities & homes look like?' to reflect on the engagement held throughout the week and hear from real people making real differences towards hopeful futures.

A&DS:SpACE is a collaborative venue created by Architecture and Design Scotland and Space for Architecture, Carbon & Environment. Through exhibitions, events and public programming, it provides a platform for conversations about architecture, design, sustainability, placemaking and the future of Scotland's built environment.
