Join us in SpACE –  the Space for Architecture, Carbon and Environment – for an afternoon talk on how we can work together to create a Scotland whose places are healthy, sustainable and thriving.

13:30 – 14:30 Wednesday 1 December 2021

The Old Fire Station on Lauriston Place
(next to Edinburgh College of Art)
Edinburgh EH3 9DF.

Architecture and Design Scotland’s aim is to see the benefits of the Place Principle become an everyday reality in the way Scotland’s places are created, adapted and sustained.

Using examples from the recent exhibition What if…?/Scotland – designed by 7N architects – as well as talking about work on climate action towns and the 20 minute neighbourhood this talk will illustrate how organisations and individuals are coming together to create better places, for people and the planet.

Speakers include Jim MacDonald, Chief Executive of Architecture and Design Scotland, and Ewan Anderson of 7N Architects, with time for a discussion following the presentations.

SpACE, the Space for Architecture, Carbon and Environment, is a pop-up public exhibition and events venue in Edinburgh that addresses the biggest issue of our time – the climate emergency – and how the built environment affects it. SpACE is for everyone involved with buildings and places, from the general public to professionals, planners, developers, contractors, heritage groups, students and many others.
