Our purpose is to promote the value of good architecture and sustainable places. Sustainability is a key component of our work – for example through public awareness of sustainable design and activities to improve an understanding of sustainable design for those commissioning new buildings.  We produce a range of case studies, resources and materials to help you explore more about sustainability and materials.

Resources include:

Material Considerations: A Library of Sustainable Building Materials – you can explore a wide range of sustainable materials by visiting our Materials Library on Level 2, The Lighthouse, Glasgow. We select a material of the month – featured here on our website.
We produce a range of events and exhibitions – such as CPD training on the use of traditional materials and our annual Timber Awards exhibition.
For schools and learners we have our award winning games My Sust House is available to test your skills at developing a home or town in a sustainable way.
We are partners in Retrofit Scotland a collaboration of organisations established to disseminate best practice in refurbishment within Scotland, and have also collaborated on other innovative projects including the Building Offsite publication and Scotland’s Housing Expo.

Browse our website or check out the resource section to find out more about Sustainability and Materials.
