Material of the Month: October 2015 – Cullalo Sandstone

Why it’s inspired us…

This light grey fine grained sandstone is quarried near Aberdour in Fife. It is suitable for most Vertical Applications, in particular for restoration work and contemporary walling. It is processed in Scotland, at Thornhill near Stirling

Why we’d like it to inspire you…

Cullalo sandstone has been regularly quarried since the early 1800s and was used historically for many buildings in the central belt, throughout fife and in the New Town of Edinburgh. Do you think this stone has been used in any of the buildings near you? Imagine how it would look after 200 years of weather?
