Family workshop – Saturday 15th January – Hole in the wall

High up on our viewing platform you will find some little windows at various heights for small people and bigger ones. Pick your window and draw or trace what you see, or what you would like to see, amongst the rooftops of Glasgow. Putting all the little artworks together will create a collaborative cityscape to be displayed and enjoyed at The Lighthouse.
Family workshop – Saturday 22nd January– Igloos (additional workshop)

You’ve built a snowman, had snowball fights and been sledging, now discover the most fun you can have with snow – Igloo building! The Igloo is an ingenious example of a simple yet highly effective form of indigenous architecture. This workshop is an introduction to thinking creatively with limited materials and understanding some basic principles of design and construction. Suitable for all the family. No actual snow involved!
Family workshop – Saturday 19th February – Animal Architecture

A workshop about the discovery of the architecture built by animals such as hives, nests, shells and burrows. Create a new home for a ‘homeless’ animal or adapt an existing design in your own style. Suitable for all ages, this workshop will fire your imagination to create weird and wonderful designs for animals both real and fantastic.
Family workshop – Saturday 19th March – Glasgow Lanterns

Recycle old plastic bottles, jars, pots or anything transparent into a beautiful Glasgow landmark lantern. Decorate the Science Centre, City Chambers or even The Lighthouse with accessories of your choice and make it sparkle, shine and glow. Bring your own item to recycle or use one of ours.
Family Workshop – Saturday 16th April – Eggitecture

Get Ready for Easter and create your own Egg House! Using materials from our ‘Aladdin’s cave’ workshop cupboard, and an egg or two, design your ideal place to live, play or work. Once you’ve built your Egg House, you can place it in our Easter Village which we know will be an eggcellent place to live!
