External Timber Cladding – A Masterclass
12.30, Wednesday 28 November
The Lighthouse, Glasgow
This half day masterclass featuring Dr Ivor Davies will provide delegates with a detailed understanding of external timber cladding design and performance.
Over the past 10 years the use of external timber cladding on buildings throughout Scotland has generated many questions from architects, specifiers and contractors on its design, installation and performance. In response, Forest Products Research Institute carried out extensive research, testing and detail development to create a body of evidence-based information on how best to respond to the contradictory demands of moisture control and fire, the two biggest issues affecting the use of timber on building facades.
External Timber Cladding; Design, Installation and Performance has become widely recognized as the definitive guidance on external timber cladding. Its contents, together with the results of recent research and development at Edinburgh Napier University, form the core of this half-day masterclass hosted by Architecture + Design Scotland at the Lighthouse, Glasgow.
Led by Dr Ivor Davies, an internationally recognized expert on the use of timber on building facades and author of External Timber Cladding; Design, Installation and Performance, the masterclass is part of the extensive CPD programme being delivered by Wood Products Innovation Gateway throughout Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland on behalf Wood for Good.
This event is aimed at architects, engineers, planners, building contractors, housing associations and other construction professionals.
All delegates will be provided with CPD certificates and one copy of External Timber Cladding; Design, Installation and Performance.
