Delivering better places – visual case studies

Add to Scrapbook

This set of case studies provide a visual analysis of 7 exemplar developments from around Europe: Adamstown-Dublin, Allerton Bywater–Leeds, Britannia Basin, Castlefield –Manchester, IJburg-Amsterdam, Newhall-Essex, Upton-Northampton, Vauban-Germany.

The aim is to provide a visual tool highlighting elements of successful developments to help inspire the delivery of better places for Scotland.

The case studies were informed by Delivering Better Places, a collaborative publication from The Scottish Centre for Regeneration, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Scotland and Architecture and Design Scotland, who worked with the University of Glasgow to create a good practice guide.

The images within these case studies have been selected from the Steve Tiesdell Legacy Collection, which can be accessed in full on flickr.

The images formed the basis of the recent Shaping Places Exhibitionat the Lighthouse.
