In September A+DS supported the annual Sir Patrick Geddes Commemorative Lecture given by Jan Gehl, founding partner of Gehl Architects in Copenhagen.

The lecture was organised by RTPI Scotland, Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland and Edinburgh Architectural Association and supported by the Sir Patrick Geddes Memorial Trust, and took place at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

The lecture explored some of the issues In his latest book “Cities for People” which presents his latest work creating and recreating cityscapes on a human scale. For more than forty years Jan has helped to transform urban environments around the world based on his research into the ways people actually use, or could use, the spaces where they live and work.

A video with the slides from the presentation is available above.
