A&DS is supporting the newly formed Local Authority Urban Design Forum (LAUDF), which held its first meeting at The Lighthouse, Glasgow, on 15th May 2013.
The forum has been initiated to provide the opportunity for Local Authority practitioners with an involvement in urban design to gather regularly with colleagues from across Scotland. The idea is to create a network where practitioners can share ideas on current issues, learn from each other’s experience and build up resources that everyone can benefit from. The forum is being led by participants, with support from A&DS.
The first full meeting was attended by over 30 professionals from 23 local authorities and public bodies. Participants came from a range of professional backgrounds including planning, architecture, landscape architecture and urban design. The first meeting’s programme was packed with a mix of presentations, workshops and facilitated discussions – a short summary report is available here.
The aim is to gather twice a year, with the next meeting scheduled for November. If you would like to find out more about getting involved with the forum, please get in touch here.
