Scotland is currently experiencing a renewables revolution and I want to see farmers, crofters and land managers working with local communities to ensure they grasp the benefits for their businesses and the nation.
Richard Lochhead, Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs
The Scottish Government’s Agri-Energy Strategy has a potentially huge impact on Scotland’s energy sector and rural economies, with far-reaching benefits for the whole country.
The upcoming Architecture and Design Scotland Estate-Scale Renewables event, supported by Scottish Land and Estates, will examine the renewables market and the opportunity for estate-scale programmes, the technologies available, pioneering projects which have already been undertaken by Scotland’s land owners and estate managers, skills and work force readiness and, crucially, funding. Speakers at the event include Jamie Williamson, Managing Director, Alvie Estate, David Lowes, Managing Partner, Glenfalloch Estate and Professor David Miller, The James Hutton Institute.
