The Severn Project, Bristol – Steve Glover
The Severn Project is one of Britain’s 50 Radicals (Nesta and the Observer). It’s the most productive urban farm in the country specializing in top end but reasonably priced salad and herbs grown in a total of 8.5 acres, 2 under plastic. Sales are expanding rapidly throughout the southwest and support services include volunteering, NVQ1 and an apprentice programme. They are currently investing 100k in retail (a farmshop) and production.
