We do not feel that the current application, or the level of information that has been provided, is of a sufficiently quality – particularly given that it proposes the removal the ‘A’ listed Gillespie, Kidd and Coia student residences.
We recognise that the application is still at outline stage. However, we are concerned that, if approved, certain design principles would be established in terms of the site layout, road networks, landscape and building distribution.
At the moment there is insufficient material provided to fully understand the implications of these aspects, or how the designs would impact on the surrounding context.
We strongly
recommend that the Council should request additional information before
processing the application – including a full site analysis, contextual site
sections, contextual elevations and 3D visualisations.
