TAYplan scoops prestigious UK-wide Planning Award

Scottish planning has featured prominently at the recent national RTPI Awards ceremony in London.

The Spatial Strategies Award and the Silver Jubilee Cup for ‘best of the winners’ went to Tayplan where their Strategic Development Plan was described as an exemplar model for the UK and beyond. The SDP has been produced in collaboration with public sector organisations, and A+DS was delighted and privileged to represent the agencies at the award ceremony.

The judges report commended the originality of the plan for using a more graphic style (with many ideas communicated through maps, plans or diagrams), and the leadership, strong project management and collaborative partnership working between the agencies concerned, which promoted joint ownership.

Overall, Scottish planning achieved the following awards/commendations:

Local Regeneration and Renewal - Commendation - Polkemmet Restoration; West Lothian Council

Rural Areas & the Natural Environment - Award – Argyll and Bute Woodland and Forestry Strategy; Argyll and Bute Council

Spatial Strategies - Award – TAYplan Proposed Strategic Development Plan; TAYplan Strategic Development Planning Authority – SILVER JUBILEE CUP

Planning for business - Commendation - The Edinburgh Planning Concordat; City of Edinburgh Council

Young Planner of the Year - Nikola Miller - Smiths Gore in Edinburgh.
