Super E Seminar

Super E Seminar – Achieving affordable, healthy, low-carbon homes.

The Good Homes Alliance, in collaboration with A+DS held a one day seminar on the 7th December 2011 in Glasgow on the Canadian Super E® system.

The Canadian Super E® system addresses the energy efficiency, ventilation and moisture control problems that have been highlighted by the Good Homes Alliance over the past five years. Super E® works through control of heat loss by means of insulation and tight control of air leakage with concomitant issues of air quality and condensation addressed by installation of low energy whole house mechanical ventilation and heat recovery. Related air quality and sustainability issues are handled by controlling internal finishing materials to restrict VOC off-gassing, by careful control of ventilation to gas or solid fuel fired stoves and fireplaces (if required) and by incorporating a selection from a "menu" of sustainability measures ranging from the incorporation of Low and Zero Carbon Technologies for energy production through to water conservation and construction material conservation/recycling.
