Scottisharchitecture.com is an online architecture centre, that is part of Architecture and Design Scotland's ACCESS to Architecture Programme. The website is designed to engage, inform and illuminate on all aspects of Scottish architecture and the built environment, across as wide an audience range as possible - from students and young people taking part in related workshops to professionals looking for lively and up-to-date news and debate.
Scottisharchitecture.com offers an important portal to information relating to projects delivered by the ACCESS to Architecture programme. The website also provides:

- diary details of forthcoming events around Scotland;
- regularly updated features on new buildings and places;
- an education resource aimed at learners across all ages;

Edgar Gonzalez, architect and director of London based practice Brisac Gonzalez, delivered a lecture themed on working practice and architectural education to the audience of the 2011 RIAS and A+DS Scottish Student Awards for Architecture ceremony held at The Lighthouse on Tuesday 12th July.
Gonzalez, who also assisted with judging the competition, was the recent recipient of the 2011 Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, recognising his services to international practice. The architect described key strategies that have contributed to the growth of Brisac Gonzalez from a practice of two ambitious young graduate architects, to a practice which internationally with a range of projects extending throughout Europe to the Middle East.
Gonzalez conveyed his perspective on how the business world has changed in recent years with global competition affecting civic comissions at all scales. This competitive world, for Gonzalez, highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial qualities and business skills being instilled in new graduates. Skills including the ability to network and spotting profitable opportunities which were described by Gonzalez as essential in terms of establishing and maintaining a successful architectural practice.
The lecture was illustrated with images of civic buildings designed by Brisac Gonzalez, and included previews of their most recent projects in France and Denmark.
