Neilston Renaissance Town wins SAQP

16 March 2010

Neilstion, Scotland's first Renaissance Town, has won the community involvement category of the Scottish Awards for Quality in Planning (SAQP). The award recognises the excellent work achieved by the community of Neilston in creating a culture of positive placemaking.

The Neilston Charter, developed as a key element of the Scottish Renaissance Towns Initiative, sets out a clear path for the future. This initiative, developed jointly between the community, East Renfrewshire Council, the Development Trust Association Scotland, Glasgow Urban lab and Architecture and Design Scotland (A+DS) forms the basis of positive place-planning for other towns and settlements in Scotland.
