East Renfrewshire Council and Architecture and Design Scotland (A+DS), along with partners the Glasgow Urban Laboratory, Mackintosh School of Architecture, GSA, Urban Design Skills and the Lighthouse, are to host the first annual Scottish Renaissance Towns Conference on Thursday 25 June at Eastwood Park Theatre in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire.
The conference will bring together the key place-makers, policy-maker and community representatives to discuss and refine the Scottish Renaissance Towns initiative; a new way of delivering national and local objectives by promoting and enhancing the local distinctiveness of our towns, cities, villages and rural areas. Keynote speakers will include leading members of government, academics, urbanists and the local community of Neilston.
Outcomes from the conference will inform the emerging Scottish Renaissance Towns prospectus, the themes and principles of future Renaissance Towns for Scotland.
